Headquartered in Finland, Ensto specializes in developing and

marketing electrical systems and supplies for the dependable and

efficient distribution of electrical power. Ensto has been in India

since 2009 and has already developed a manufacturing and product

development facility at Manesar in Haryana. Ashok Kaushik

discusses the problems plaguing India's power distribution sector

and how efficient technology can bring about drastic improvement.

Kaushik also observes that India's ability to meet its peak demand

loads will be determined by its progress made on the Smart Grid

front.

Ensto has been in India for over three years now. What have been

your key offerings to the power distribution sector?

Ensto is enabling India achieve its goals of developing modern and

sustainable infrastructure, especially in the segments of

electricity distribution networks: photovoltaic, enclosing

solutions for large infrastructure projects, and water- and

wastewater treatment.

In Utility Network division, we provide solutions for medium and

low voltage overhead and underground lines. In industrial

solutions vertical, we provide high end industrial enclosure and

terminal solutions plastic and metal. Our products are reliable and

specifically meant for consumers adhering to strict quality norms

and approved under stringent laboratory testing in various

climatic conditions for electrical and mechanical properties. Our

products meet various international standards such as IEC, EN,UL,

CE and standards prevailing in Indian market viz NFC /REC/IS.

Tell us about your manufacturing facility and product development

centre at Manesar. Do you have imminent plans of capacity

expansion?

The company, with its local manufacturing facility at Manesar in

Haryana, plans on trading of standard products as well as

assembly of customized projects. We have in-house design and

development team with state of art testing laboratory. The

Manesar plant concentrates on the low voltage overhead line

accessories.

In Utility Network, we manufacture India-specific range of

accessories for different types of electricity distribution networks,
