US-headquartered Eaton Corporation plans to expand its power distribution business in India as part of reaching $500 million revenue in the next four years, reliable reports suggest. Detailed plans are likely to be unveiled in January next year. Eaton would focus on the low and medium voltage segments, it is learnt.

Reports further suggest that the company might look to tie-up with a local partner or by establishing a greenfield facility in India. Besides expanding its presence in the power distribution industry, Eaton is also planning to tap other areas like hydraulics, aerospace and localisation of industrial products as part of registering $500 million revenues by 2015.

Eaton has two manufacturing facilities each in Ahmednagar and Nashik in Maharashtra. In 2010 Eaton Corporation globally reported revenues of $13.7 billion.
