Bharat Heavy Electricals has bagged a
contract for the supply and
installation of the electrostatic
precipitator package for NTPC's 2x660-mw
Solapur super thermal power project in
Maharashtra.
BHEL's scope of work in the contract
involves design, engineering,
manufacture, supply, erection and
commissioning of the complete
electrostatic precipitator package.
According to a
statement by BHEL,
the ESP shall be
manufactured at the
company's Ranipet
plant. BHEL's
Power Sector -
Western Region will be responsible for
erection and commissioning of the ESP,
the statement added.
Main plant package: It may be recalled
that NTPC formalized orders for the main
plant equipment of the Solapur project in
April this year. The Rs.1,855-crore order
for the boiler package (including a foreign
exchange component of 109.79 million
euros) has been placed on BGR Energy
Systems Ltd. Alstom Bharat Forge Ltd, a
joint venture between Alstom and Bharat
Forge has won the mandate to supply the
turbine-generator islands. The order for
two TG sets of 660-mw is around
Rs.1,570 crore.
