Shriram EPC ties up with WEPDI of China

EPC CONTRACTING FOR POWER PROJECTS

Shriram EPC Ltd has signed an MoU with North West Electric Power Design Institute of China. The two companies will form a consortium, in which Shriram EPC will be the lead partner, for EPC execution of thermal power projects in India.
north west.jpgSEPC is engaged in integrated design, engineering, procurement, construction and project management services for renewable energy projects, process and metallurgical plants, and municipal service sector projects in India and abroad. It is also a manufacturer of wind turbine generators through a tie-up with Leitner.
Founded in 1956, NWEPDI has been involved in a large number of coal-fired power projects both in China and abroad. It has been able to maintain its domestic leadership in the areas of 1,000-mw ultra supercritical units, the air-cooled condenser unit design technology and the high voltage DC and AC power transmission engineering design, a statement by Shriram EPC said. Amongst the key projects handled by the Chinese partner is the 2x1,000-mw Anhui Tongling power project.
"As a part of the consortium, SEPC will now be able to bid for power projects that were previously out of reach," said M.A. Shariff, Joint Managing Director, Shriram EPC Ltd, in a statement.
