ABB India Ltd has said that it has book orders worth around Rs.425 crore from Central utility Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd during the first quarter (January to March) this year. As part of these orders, ABB India would be setting up substations for PGCIL at several locations India, which would be part of PGCIL's objective of increasing the national inter-regional grid transfer capacity to 37,500 mw by 2012.
ABB will be responsible for design, supply, installation and commissioning of 765/400 kV substations at Agra (Uttar Pradesh), Wardha (Maharashtra), Bilaspur and Seoni (both Madhya Pradesh), part from a 400/220 kV substation at Palakkad in Kerala. These projects are scheduled to commission by mid-2011.
