KEC International wins orders worth Rs.1,300 crore

KEC SubstationKEC International Ltd has won a slew of orders in the power transmission, power systems and cable business, both in India and abroad.

Power Grid Corporation of India has placed an order worth Rs.318 crore for supply and erection of a 765kV double-circuit transmission line between Aurangabad and Padghe in Maharashtra. SAE Towers, the wholly owned subsidiary of the company has secured orders for the supply of lattice towers, monopoles and hardware from Canada, United States, Brazil and Mexico. The total value of these orders is Rs.166 crore. Orders were also received from Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Kenya, Kazakhstan and Laos.
 
Enters water segment
KEC International entered the water EPC segment with the winning of Rs.134 crore worth of local orders. For the Water Resources Department of Madhya Pradesh, KEC will construct a concrete dam under pench diversion project at Chourai in Chhindwara district. Besides, a canal will also be constructed at Rewa for the same client.


In the power system business, a Rs.33-crore order was received for a 115/22kV substation in Laos and a Rs.26-crore order for 138kV substations from Philippines. In Malaysia too, KEC won an order to build 275/33kV substations.

In the cables business, KEC won contracts to supply power and telecom cables worth Rs.182 crore.
