Suzlon Wind Energy A/S, the European division of
Suzlon Energy Ltd, has formed a joint venture called
DIV Wind OO with Volkswind Bulgaria GmbH. The Bulgarian
company is a subsidiary of Germany's Volkswind
GmbH, a leading independent power producer
in Europe. The joint venture will develop projects exclusively
using Suzlon's wind energy turbines.
Bulgaria is an emerging wind energy market in
Eastern Europe that is expected to achieve wind
energy capacity of 500 mw by 2010 end. Its target for
2020 exceeds 3,000 mw of installed capacity. The
wind energy market in Bulgaria is supported by
attractive feed-in tariffs.
