Haryana draws up Rs 136 crore plan for T&D at Faridabad

The power utilities in Haryana have drawn up a Rs 136-crore plan to strengthen transmission and distribution (T&D) systems at Faridabad district to improve voltage level and quality of power supply.

Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) and Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) have planned to rehabilitate 65 overloaded and lengthier feeders, replace old conductors of 55 feeders, construct five new substations and augment capacity of seven existing substations in the district.

The new 66 KV substations will be set up at Fatehpur, Biloch, Bhagola, Sector-2 Palwal, Sector 62 and 64 Ballabhgarh and Greenfield at Faridabad. The substations, the capacity of which was planned to be augmented, included those at Oswal Steel, Dabriwala, NH-3, FCI, Partap Steel, Jharsetly, Dhoj and Hodal.

DHBVN also plans to add 800 new distribution transformers in the existing network of 8,417 transformers at Faridabad and 75 transformers of lower capacity will be replaced with those of higher capacity.

The length of the power transmission and distribution lines will be increased by adding 1700 km long power distribution lines.

DHBVN also plans to release 24,000 new connections in the district, including 1000 connections each of industrial and agriculture categories, and add 1500 KVAR capacitors.
