Surana to start production of LT power cables

Rahul Kamat

Surana Telecom, a major contributor of critical components for the Indian telecom sector, is all set to start commercial production of LT power cables at Chelapalli, Hyderabad, involving an investment of Rs 5 crore. The production is scheduled to start by this month-end. The company also plans to manufacture LT power cables of 1.1 KV to 33 KV.

Flagging off with Heat Shrinkable Cable Jointing Kits Division, the company is today a name to reckon with in the niche optic fiber cable market. It is making a phenomenal contribution both in terms of technical expertise and productive excellence to foster the rapid improvement of the country's communication network.

"Many power projects are coming up in India, which requires maximum amount of power cables. So this unit will be an added advantage for those who are going to set up power plants in Hyderabad," according to company officials.
