KEC International Ltd has
secured three new orders
from Saudi Arabia and India
for supply and construction of
transmission lines on turnkey basis.
The Saudi Arabia order is for
380kV double circuit overhead
transmission lines. Placed by Saudi
Electricity Company (SEC), Saudi
Arabia, the
306-crore order entails
a total route length of 169 km. This
order is secured through KEC's joint
venture with Al-Sharif Group,
Saudi Arabia. The contract
completion period is 24 months.
In India, KEC has secured two
new orders for 400kV doublecircuit
overhead transmission
lines; of this one order is from
Power Grid Corporation of India
and the other from private
customer VISA Power.
The PGCIL order worth
70 crore
is for a 69-km transmission line in
Salem, Tamil Nadu, with
completion scheduled for 27
months. The Visa Power order is for
a transmission line from its Raigarh
Plant to New Kotra PGCIL
substation in Chhattisgarh. Total
order value for the 11-km line is
24
crore and the route length of the line
is 11 km. The contract completion
period is 12 months.
The new orders have taken KEC
International's outstanding order
book position to
8,450 crore, a
company statement said.
